Be Prepared with Tactical Gear Bags
Ever notice that Batman wears a utility belt but Superman doesn’t?
That’s because Superman doesn’t have to prepare. If he needs a sandwich, he punches the bad guy, flies off faster than a speeding bullet, makes the sandwich, and continues punching the guy.
Batman, on the other hand, has to take his sandwich with him. Sure, he’s got a butler to make his sandwich, but he’s got a pouch to carry it. He always carries everything he needs and is prepared for any situation. Even hunger.
We’re never going to be Superman, but we can aspire to be Batman and always be prepared. When you’re in the field, you never know what you’re going to require, so you need the right tactical gear within easy reach. You’ll want to have tactical gear bags for every situation.
A Place for Everything
There are a few things to take into consideration before grabbing your gear.
- Ruggedness – whatever bag you’re carrying, it has to stand up to whatever environment you’re in without being too heavy.
- Placement – what will you be doing with your body while you’re utilizing your pack? What range of motion do you need? Make sure it won’t get in your way, or that it can be removed quickly.
- Space – you don’t want to have just one tactical gear bag. Sometimes it will be too small, and other times it will be too unwieldy and just add unneeded weight.
- Snag-ability – It’s not a word, but you know what I mean. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the desert or the brambles, because you’ve always got to make sure it isn’t going to grab the hammer of your sidearm when you draw.
